Carl Maynard: The District's Community Guy

Carl Maynard is a man who pursues community with all his heart. He founded @thefitdistrict, @maketto1351 run squad, and @walkwithlocals. Growing up Carl’s Dad was always wanting to help others, and put together community meals - Carl reluctantly would be brought along to help. However, looking back Carl recognizes that these were crucial years, in which his father was teaching him the importance and value of community. Kelly Towles: Washington DC Artist, Designer, and Doer

Kelly Towles (@kellytowles) is the man behind a lot of the incredible street murals that make DC a more vibrant place. Four years ago, Laurin and her mother, Teresa, began the journey to bridge a gap to restore trust that has been broken (because trust has been broken on both sides), and together they make every effort to see people be rehabilitated to full citizenship. Laurin creates conversations that extend borders in both Baltimore and DC desiring to make a region ready to break down walls that have caused separation....

THE DESIGNER BEHIND DISTRICT of CLOTHING

Dionna is the brains behind DISTRICT of CLOTHING. DISTRICT came to her one night back in 2014. She was inspired by the unique dreamers and doers she found herself surrounded by—people actually doing their dreams. Dionna also wanted to battle the negativity she saw & heard on a day to day basis by inspiring others with positive messaging. "It's ok to dream, but it's also time to do. We have come so far, but we still have so far to go—and now is our time." —Dionna M. Dorsey #doersdotell
